Training
Tracers offer two foundation training courses aimed at the professional investigator, Open Source or Internet Investigations and Surveillance Techniques. This training is modular and can be conducted in stages to suit both the client’s ability and budget. Both training packages start with a one day awareness course leading to more intense training in the chosen subject if desired:
People Tracing via Open Sources/Internet Investigations:
- Describe and demonstrate the value of Internet Intelligence gathering relevant to the Investigator
- Identify the range of freely available sources of information and intelligence on the Internet
- Develop efficient and focused strategies for the collection of data
- Understand and describe the capabilities of free and readily available sources used to obtain different types of information
- Design systems to enable continuous monitoring of various sources
- Gather information, intelligence or evidence from the Internet in accordance with current legislative requirements
- Apply lateral thinking techniques to validate appropriate information
- Present clear, concise, auditable and disclosure compliant reports and evidence
Surveillance Techniques learning outcomes:
- Have an understanding of all relevant legislation and legality of practices
- Obtain practical ability in covert monitoring of subjects
- Perform efficiently individually or as part of a covert surveillance team
- Know the disciplines and various methods of foot surveillance
- Be fully aware of the methods and techniques of counter-surveillance
- Show proficiency in setting up and maintaining a covert static observation post
- Plan operations in full cognisance of risks and limiting factors
- Be able to prepare and impart accurate and precise briefings to colleagues and managers
- Be confident in the preparation of reports and evidential material having regard to current rules, legislation and rules of disclosureÂ
